OPERATION: BENEFIT EXTRACT
OPERATION: BENEFIT EXTRACT
Assault Position is a veteran-led resource dedicated to demystifying the VA claims process. Our mission is to provide you with the tactical intelligence and structural framework needed to navigate the VA bureaucracy and secure the disability rating you’ve earned through service. We use the military's five-paragraph order to organize evidence, simplify forms, and ensure no veteran goes into their "C&P" exam without a solid scheme of maneuver.
The Obstacles (The VA Bureaucracy): Understanding environmental hazards like the "Paperwork Jungle" and the "Fog of War."
Key Terrain (Critical Evidence): Identifying high-ground assets such as Service Treatment Records (STRs), Nexus Letters, DBQs, and Personal Statements.
Cover and Concealment (Common Pitfalls): Avoiding tactical errors like the "I’m Fine" trap and missed suspense dates.
Avenues of Approach (Claim Types): Navigating the paths of Direct, Secondary, and Presumptive service connections.
Enemy Forces (The Rating Authorities): Analyzing the roles of the C&P Examiner, the Rater (RVSR), and the "Delta" (the gap between documented evidence and actual symptoms).
Friendly Forces (Your Support Element): Identifying resources such as Accredited VSOs, the Medical Community, and Fellow Veterans.
Attachments & Detachments (External Factors): Understanding the impact of the PACT Act, Independent Medical Opinions (IMOs), and the current HLR/BVA backlogs.
The Mission Statement: Defining the objective to provide veterans with tactical intelligence and evidence-based strategies for successful claims.
Commander’s Intent: Empowering veterans through strategic knowledge and preparation before filing the first form.
Objective: Providing the tactical guidance necessary to overcome administrative hurdles and secure earned disability ratings and compensation.
Concept of Operation (The Big Picture): Focusing on "Pre-File Domination" and the strategy of submitting a Fully Developed Claim (FDC).
Maneuver (The Phases of the Claim):
Phase I: Reconnaissance: Submitting an Intent to File (ITF) and completing the Initial Intel Report.
Phase II: Intel Gathering: Securing Service Treatment Records and filling evidence gaps with Nexus Letters and DBQs.
Phase III: The Breach: Drafting the Statement in Support of Claim (21-4138) to convey the functional impact of conditions.
Phase IV: The Assault: The formal filing process and final package verification.
Phase V: Consolidate & Reorganize: Preparation and conduct during the C&P Exam.
Coordinating Instructions (The Rules of Engagement): Managing timelines, maintaining communication logs, securing original documents, and prioritizing the order of precedence for claims.
Personnel & Accreditation (The Status of Forces): Clarifying the current background of the lead coordinator and the path toward official VA accreditation.
Legal Disclaimer: Defining the scope of services as educational resources and peer-to-peer preparation assistance.
Service Fees (The Cost of the Mission): Outlining the current zero-cost fee structure.
Future Logistics (Post-Accreditation): Providing a transparent transition plan for future fee models in compliance with VA regulations.
Records & Data (Intelligence Management): Establishing protocols for PII security, document ownership, and maintaining a personal "Mission Pack."
Leadership Overview (Meet Brian): A summary of the background and military service of the lead coordinator, including over two decades of infantry experience.
The Mission Continues: Understanding the transition from military service to veteran advocacy and the commitment to the "no person left behind" ethos.
Professional Journey: Highlighting leadership roles in the claims process, from internships to directing transition programs and founding support initiatives.
Signal (Communication & Feedback): Identifying the primary email channel for reporting claim updates and receiving tactical advice.
